World Art Nouveau Day in Ljubljana

On 10 June, we celebrate World Art Nouveau Day, which at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries changed the face of cities in Europe and beyond. On this day the deaths of Antoni Gaudí and Ödön Lechner, two of the most charismatic Art Nouveau architects who made art in different parts of Europe in different parts of Europe.

The idea of celebrating World Art Nouveau Day was born in 2013 by the contributors of the Hungarian Art Nouveau Magazine. Since then, all activities for the World Art Nouveau Day have been coordinated by the Réseau international network.
Art Nouveau Network (RANN) in Brussels and Ruta del Modernisme in Barcelona, of which Ljubljana is a member. In the week around 10 June, all RANN partner cities are hosting a wide range of events - exhibitions, lectures, guided walks through the cities and museum collections. Ljubljana is also joining in the celebration of World Art Nouveau Day by organising a series of events to help raise public awareness of the cultural values and European dimension of this heritage that is so close to us.

All events are free of charge for visitors.
Some events require advance registration.
