47 minutes, Maistro Action for Maribor

Saturday, 23 November 2024, at 18:00 in front of the Post of Slovenia, Slomškov trg 10, Maribor. A documentary-artistic staging of the disarmament of the Green Guard on 23 November 1918.

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has declared 2024 the Maistro Year. In Maribor, which was the focal point of his activities, we are working together to stage an immersive reenactment of the events of 106 years ago. On the night of 22-23 November 1918, Maister finally took control and power of the city by disarming the Green Guard (Schutzwehr). The action, thoughtfully planned and brilliantly managed, started at 4 a.m. and lasted only 47 minutes. Maribor became a Slovenian city.
